Dos dias 8 a 20 de novembro de 2025 a coreógrafa, performer e artista visual Wallace Ferreira (a.k.a. Patfudyda) estará em Nova York para uma residência artística de pesquisa e criação.
Residência Instituto Guimarães Rosa 2025
Com o objetivo de fomentar laços entre comunidades artísticas internacionais, a residência é uma iniciativa do CÂMBIO em parceria com o Perelman Performing Arts Center, e com o apoio do Instituto Guimarães Rosa, do Ministério das Relações Exteriores e do Consulado Geral do Brasil em Nova York. A residência oferece a um artista brasileiro a oportunidade de desenvolver novos trabalhos, colaborar com artistas locais, conectar-se com a comunidade local, pesquisar arquivos, descobrir a cidade de Nova York e explorar os recursos disponíveis.
Em sua primeira visita à Nova York, Wallace Ferreira é a artista convidada desta primeira edição da residência. Ao longo de 12 dias, ela poderá explorar a cidade, se conectar com artistas locais e, com acesso exclusivo à uma sala de ensaio cedida pelo Perelman Arts Center, trabalhar no seu processo de pesquisa e criação artística.
Wallace Ferreira (também conhecida como Patfudyda) é coreógrafa, performer e artista visual brasileira – vencedora do Prêmio ImPulsTanz para Jovens Coreógrafos 2022 e do Prêmio FOCO ARTRIO 2024, e nomeado Artista em Destaque na MITbr 2025.
Por meio de práticas interdisciplinares, seus trabalhos consistem em estudos de códigos sociais coreografados por corpos dissidentes. Desde 2018 Wallace Ferreira apresenta trabalhos em galerias de arte e festivais internacionais como 35ª Bienal de São Paulo, Serpentine Gallery (Londres), Bienal Sesc de Dança, MITsp, Festival Santarcangelo (IT), Festival Les Urbaines (Suíça), Galeria Vermelho (São Paulo), Festival Julidans (NL), Anozero’24 Bienal Coimbra (PT), Museu de Serralves (PT), Festival Salmôn (ESP), Festival Panorama (BR), Rumos Itaú Cultural (BR), My Wild Flag (Estocolmo), ArtRio, Lateral Roma, Galeria Jaqueline Martins, SP-ARTE, Display (CZ), Festival Parallèle (FR) e International Dance Festival München.
Junto com Davi Pontes, desenvolveram a trilogia de práticas coreográficas Repertório (#1, 2 e 3), que explora a dança como forma de treinamento de autodefesa.
Dentro da cultura Ballroom/Vogue, Patfudyda detém o título de Mãe Lendária da Casa Kiki de Mamba Negra e faz parte da inegável Haus de Basquiat. Também diretora das performances ATRAQUE e Vogue Funk, onde espaços são criados através de práticas que ativam o corpo como agente histórico, reposicionando códigos naturalizados em esferas sociais e articulando estratégias para subverter linguagens estabelecidas.

From November 8th to 20th, 2025, choreographer, performer, and visual artist Wallace Ferreira (a.k.a. Patfudyda) will be in New York for an artist residency focused on research and creation.
The Guimarães Rosa Institute Residency 2025
With the objective of fostering ties between international arts communities, the residency is an initiative of CÂMBIO in partnership with the Perelman Performing Arts Center, with the support of the Guimarães Rosa Institute from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Consulate-General of Brazil in New York. The residency provides an opportunity for a Brazilian artist to develop new work, collaborate with local artists, connect with the local community, research archives, immerse themselves in the city and the resources available to explore.
On her first visit to New York, Wallace Ferreira is the invited artist for this inaugural residency. Over 12 days, she will be able to explore the city, connect with local artists, and, with exclusive access to a rehearsal space provided by the Perelman Arts Center, work on her artistic research and creation process.
Wallace Ferreira (a.k.a. Patfudyda) is a Brazilian choreographer, performer and visual artist – winner of the ImPulsTanz Young Choreographers’ Award 2022 and the FOCO ARTRIO Award 2024, and named Artist in Focus at the 2025 MITbr.
Through interdisciplinary practices, the works consist of studies of social codes choreographed by dissident bodies. Since 2018 Wallace Ferreira has presented works in art galleries and international festivals such as 35ª Bienal de São Paulo, Serpentine Gallery (London), Sesc Dance Biennial, MITsp, Santarcangelo Festival (IT), Les Urbaines Festival (Switzerland), Galeria Vermelho (São Paulo), Julidans Festival (NL), Anozero’24 Bienal Coimbra (PT), Serralves Museum (PT), Festival Salmôn (ESP), Panorama Festival (BR), Rumos Itaú Cultural (BR), My Wild Flag (Stockholm), ArtRio, Lateral Roma, Galeria Jaqueline Martins, SP- ARTE, Display (CZ), Festival Parallèle (FR), and International Dance Festival München.
Together with Davi Pontes, they developed the choreographic practice trilogy Repertório (#1, 2, and 3), which explores dance as a form of self-defense training.
Within the Ballroom/Vogue culture, Patfudyda holds the title of Legendary Mother of the Kiki House of Mamba Negra and is a part of the Undeniable Haus of Basquiat. Director of the performance pieces ATRAQUE and Vogue Funk, where spaces are created through practices that activate the body as a historical agent, repositioning naturalised codes in social spheres and articulating strategies to subvert established languages.
